A political movement in Lagos, the TMS Movement, has defended its push for the re-election of Bola Tinubu as Governor of Lagos State in 2027. In an interview with PRNigeria News, the movement’s spokesperson, Tunde Rahman, said that the continuity of the reforms initiated by Tinubu was necessary for the progress of the state. According to Rahman, the TMS Movement believes that Tinubu’s leadership has brought significant improvements to Lagos, and that these gains would be jeopardized if there was a change in leadership. The TMS Movement’s defense of Tinubu’s re-election bid comes amidst speculation about his intentions for the 2027 gubernatorial election. Tinubu, who served as Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007, has not yet announced whether he will seek re-election in 2027. However, his influence in Lagos politics and his legacy as a key figure in Nigeria’s democracy make him a likely contender for the position.
