2027: PDP Criticizes Sanwo-Olu’s Policies, Seeks New Direction for Lagos

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed dissatisfaction with the policies of Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and is calling for a new direction for the state.

In an interview with Vanguard News, the PDP’s Lagos State chapter chairman, Taofeek Gani, criticized Sanwo-Olu’s policies and stated that residents had expected the governor to provide a leadership that would protect and build on the achievements of his predecessors. According to Gani, the PDP believes that the current direction of the state is unsustainable and that a new approach is needed to address the challenges facing Lagos. This criticism comes ahead of the 2027 elections, in which Sanwo-Olu will seek re-election as governor. The PDP’s call for a new direction for Lagos is likely to be seen as a challenge to Sanwo-Olu and his ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) party, which has faced growing criticism over its handling of the state’s affairs. With the elections just over a year away, the PDP’s criticism is sure to add to the political tension in Lagos and could have significant implications for the state’s future direction.
