In a development that is likely to bring relief to thousands of retired civil servants in Kaduna State, the state’s Governor, Uba Sani, has approved the release of N3.6 billion for the payment of pensions, gratuities, and death benefits to retirees.
According to a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Ahmed Maiyaki, this latest disbursement brings the administration’s cumulative pension payments since May 2023 to N21.455 billion, benefiting 9,683 retirees and eligible families.
This news comes as a significant step towards addressing the long-standing issue of pension arrears in Kaduna State, a challenge that has been a source of concern for many retired civil servants.
