A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State, Chief Samson Nnamani, has urged the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, to recognize that support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election extends beyond the structures of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to a report by Vanguard News, Nnamani believes that the President enjoys wide-ranging backing from various groups and sectors, not just within the APC.
This call comes after former Senate President David Mark suggested that the PGF should consider working with Tinubu for the 2027 elections. While Uzodimma has not publicly responded to this proposal, it seems clear that some opposition figures believe Tinubu’s support reaches far beyond the APC.
Meanwhile, in a separate development reported by Radio Nigeria Abuja, former Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State has called on Northerners to support Tinubu’s re-election. Yari emphasized the need for unity among Northern leaders and expressed his belief that Tinubu is the best candidate for the job.
