The inferno, which began at approximately 10:23 am due to an electrical surge in the conference room, rapidly spread to other parts of the building. According to reports from Punch Newspapers and THISDAYLIVE, the blaze destroyed property worth millions of naira.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, but sources suggest it might have been sparked by an electrical malfunction. The Customs Service has not commented on when the facility began operations or whether insurance covers the losses.
