In a recent development, award-winning author Chimamanda Adichie and her husband, Dr. Ivara Esege, have urged a Lagos High Court to dismiss a suit by Eurapharma Care Services Nigeria Limited seeking to halt the coroner’s inquest into the death of their son. According to multiple sources, this legal battle stems from an application filed by Euracare Hospital challenging the coroner’s jurisdiction over the matter.
The couple argued that Eurapharma’s application was premature because the coroner had not made any decision that could be challenged by way of judicial review. Premium Times Nigeria reported that Adichie and her husband believe the hospital’s bid is an attempt to obstruct justice.
