In a shocking turn of events, the Delta State Police Command has taken the Commissioner for Secondary Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibogwu, and four other suspects into custody over the death of Mr Unity Ekpevbughe Adeda, Deputy Director in the state Ministry of Secondary Education. According to reports by Vanguard News, the arrest was made following a probe into the circumstances surrounding Mr Adeda’s death. The Commissioner, Dr. Ashibogwu, is among four other suspects that have been apprehended.
The incident has sparked outrage among workers in the Delta State Ministry of Secondary Education who are demanding a thorough investigation into the matter. This demand was echoed by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) which shut down the state secretariat in Asaba on Friday to press for an investigation and accountability, as reported by Premium Times Nigeria.
