Amid growing concerns over safety during the upcoming end-of-year festivities, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, convened an emergency meeting with security chiefs on Tuesday. According to reports from Tribune Online and Vanguard News, the gathering aimed to discuss and bolster security operations across the state. The move comes as a proactive measure ahead of the holiday season, which traditionally witnesses an increase in social activities and gatherings.
In a bid to reassure residents and visitors, Sanwo-Olu has promised to continue strengthening security measures. Speaking at the State House, Marina, he expressed his commitment to maintaining peace and order during this critical period. The meeting was held ahead of the anticipated visit by former Lagos governor and APC national leader, Bola Tinubu.
The safety of residents is a top priority for Sanwo-Olu’s administration, as highlighted in the governor’s recent address to the public. Last week, he reiterated his commitment to ensuring that all necessary measures are taken to safeguard Lagosians during the festive season.
