As Nigeria celebrates its 66th Independence Anniversary on October 1st, key figures in the nation are calling for unity, mutual understanding, and positive narratives to help navigate the country’s challenges.
The Director-General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), Osita Okechukwu, emphasized the need for a unified front as the nation faces mounting issues. According to news reports on Google News, Okechukwu urged Nigerians to focus on positive narratives that promote unity and progress.
In a separate statement, Nigeria’s Chief Justice of the Federation (CJN), Tanko Muhammad, called on citizens to uphold the rule of law as an essential foundation for national stability.
Outside the governmental sphere, Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, and former Sokoto Governor, Aliyu Wamakko, also urged Nigerians to promote unity, peace, and mutual understanding during this critical period in the nation’s history.
