Supporters of President Bola Tinubu have responded to criticisms from opposition leader Atiku Abubakar, as reported by Vanguard News. The group, known as ‘Tinubu Must Stay’ (TMS), has argued against calls for the President’s removal in January’s election. According to a report by Omeiza Ajayi, TMS cited several achievements as reasons for Tinubu to remain in office. Among these were increases in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), improvements in the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), and advancements in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversions.
The group’s statement comes in response to Atiku Abubakar’s call for Tinubu’s resignation following allegations of corruption. While these allegations have not been proven, they have sparked debate and criticism within Nigerian political circles.
This development underscores the ongoing political tension in Nigeria as the country prepares for January’s election. As Tinubu seeks to secure a second term, opposition leaders like Atiku Abubakar will continue to challenge his administration’s policies and performance.
