New WAEC Registrar/CEO Announced: Nigerian Amos Dangut Takes Charge

After a rigorous selection process, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the appointment of a new Registrar/CEO. According to multiple sources, the appointee is Nigerian Amos Dangut. This development comes at a time when the council is grappling with several challenges, making his assumption of office timely. Business Post Nigeria reported that Dangut brings a wealth of experience to the role having worked in various capacities within the educational sector. Channels Television also confirmed the appointment, stating that Dangut’s tenure is expected to bring about significant reforms and improvements in WAEC’s operations. The Vanguard News further revealed that Dangut will be tasked with addressing the council’s ongoing issues, including leakages of examination questions and irregularities during examinations.
