In anticipation of the international friendly against Russia, the Super Eagles kicked off their preparations with a training session in Nizhny Novgorod on Saturday night. This comes after their arrival in Moscow on Friday. According to reports, Captain Wilfred Ndidi, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Akpe Victory have already withdrawn from the friendly.
The training session involved 17 players, as confirmed by THISDAYLIVE. It is not yet clear when Kelechi Iheanacho joined the team, although The Sun Nigeria reported his arrival earlier today.
The Super Eagles and Russia are set to face off on Tuesday, October 5, in a friendly match that will offer both teams an opportunity to gauge their readiness ahead of next month’s World Cup qualifiers.
