NITDA Warns Against Sharing Sensitive Data with ChatGPT and Gemini

According to reports from Nigeria technology on Google News, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has issued a warning to Nigerians about the potential risks of sharing sensitive data with Artificial Intelligence (AI) models like ChatGPT and digital asset platforms such as Gemini. The agency’s concerns revolve around data privacy and protection issues that may arise from using these platforms. It is important to note that while AI models like ChatGPT can be useful tools for various purposes, they are still relatively new and their implications for user data remain a topic of discussion among experts. Meanwhile, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim has also spoken out against technology-driven exclusion, emphasizing the need to ensure that technological advancements do not widen existing inequalities in Nigeria. The warning from NITDA comes as a reminder to Nigerians to be cautious when sharing their sensitive data online, especially with relatively new platforms and technologies.
