Following a series of contentious remarks made about a referee during a recent Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) match, Sporting Lagos coach Jeffrey Buter has been summoned by the league’s disciplinary panel. According to reports from Daily Post Nigeria and Nigeria Lagos, Buter’s comments came after his side drew 1-1 with Barau FC at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos. The league has yet to announce a date for the hearing. It remains unclear whether Buter’s comments constitute a breach of NPFL rules. In a statement, Sporting Lagos acknowledged the summons but said it would cooperate fully with the league’s investigations.
