President Bola Tinubu visited the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, at his palace in Iga Idunganran, Lagos Island on Sunday. The visit was a traditional courtesy call that provided an opportunity for the President to receive royal prayers and counsel from the traditional ruler.
According to multiple sources, Tinubu was received at the palace by members of the royal court, including high chiefs and other dignitaries. The Oba reportedly offered prayers for Tinubu’s administration and offered counsel on national issues.
The visit comes after the Oba had publicly endorsed Tinubu’s presidential bid in the build-up to the 2023 elections. Tinubu, a former Lagos governor, is known to have a close relationship with the Oba and has visited him on numerous occasions in the past.
