Military Successes Against Terrorism: Troops Kill 36 Terrorists, Rescue 50 Abductees – DHQ

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has reported that the military has made significant strides in the ongoing fight against terrorism in Nigeria. In a statement released on October 10, 2026, the DHQ announced that troops killed 36 terrorists and rescued 50 abductees during operations across the country from October 2 to October 8. According to the statement, the troops also arrested several suspects and collaborators of the terrorists. These operations were carried out in various locations, with the aim of dismantling terrorist networks and ensuring the safety and security of Nigerian citizens. The DHQ’s announcement comes at a time when the country is grappling with increasing incidents of terrorism, particularly in the North-East region. The successes reported by the DHQ are a welcome development and a testament to the military’s commitment to combating terrorism. However, it is important to note that the fight against terrorism is a long-term effort, and more needs to be done to fully eradicate the scourge. According to Premium Times Nigeria, the DHQ’s statement was made during a press briefing held on October 10.
