Senate Launches Investigation into Death of Former SUG President at Enugu NYSC Camp

The Senate has launched an investigation into the death of a former Students’ Union Government (SUG) president, Mr. Daniel Etimbuk, at the Enugu State NYSC orientation camp. According to Premium Times Nigeria, Mr. Daniel passed away during his compulsory three-week orientation course at the camp.

As reported by Vanguard News, the Senate’s decision to probe Mr. Daniel’s death follows concerns about the medical facilities and emergency response services available at the camps across Nigeria. The NYSC member’s passing has raised questions about the camp’s readiness to handle emergencies, particularly given the large number of corps members in attendance.

The probe is expected to shed light on the circumstances surrounding Mr. Daniel’s death and potentially recommend measures to improve the safety and wellbeing of corps members during their service year.
