Nigeria’s former Kano state governor and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has categorically dismissed speculations about a last-minute deal with the African Democratic Congress (ADC). In a firm stance, Kwankwaso asserted that neither the All Progressives Congress (APC) nor the ADC offers Nigerians the alternative his ticket represents. In a recent statement, Kwankwaso alluded to an alleged alliance between the ADC and APC, stating, You can’t distract us, your response exposes your true intentions.
This development comes as the 2027 presidential election draws closer, and the race heats up among the major political parties. The ADC, led by Yabagi Sani, had been rumored to be considering an alliance with Kwankwaso, but the NNPP leader has now made it clear that he is committed to his bid for the presidency. According to THISDAYLIVE, the ADC has not officially responded to Kwankwaso’s statement. This development underscores the intense competition among the major political parties and their candidates ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
