In a move that underscores the party’s confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s appeal, the Lagos State APC has reaffirmed its target to secure five million votes for the President in the 2027 elections. This was disclosed following a meeting held by party leaders in Lagos. According to Punch Newspapers, the target is aimed to be achieved through grassroots mobilization.
This is not the first time the party has set such a high vote target for Tinubu. In the run-up to the 2023 elections, the party had also expressed optimism about securing a significant number of votes in Lagos State.
However, it remains to be seen whether the party will be able to deliver the same level of support in 2027. With the political landscape likely to evolve in the intervening years, the party will need to adapt its strategies to keep pace with changing dynamics.
