In a recent interview on Arise Television, Sly Ezeokenwa, the National Chairman of APGA, explained that Soludo’s support for Tinubu is not about betrayal or party politics but about Igbo interest and national development. According to Ezeokenwa, Soludo’s decision is a ‘bitter truth’ that the South-East must align with the centre for the region’s development. The APGA chair’s comments come amidst speculation and criticism over Soludo’s decision to support Tinubu, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
‘The Governor’s decision is not about party politics, but about Igbo interest and national development,’ Ezeokenwa said. ‘The bitter truth is that the South-East must align with the centre for our development.’
This stance by Soludo and Ezeokenwa has sparked debate within the political circles of the South-East, with some viewing it as a pragmatic move for regional development, while others see it as a betrayal to APGA and the South-East.
According to Vanguard News, Ezeokenwa made these comments during an interview on Arise Television on Saturday. Daily Post Nigeria also reported on the interview, emphasizing Ezeokenwa’s remarks about Soludo’s decision being in the interest of the Igbo and the nation.
