The Northern Christian Association (NCA) has called for a probe into a viral video that allegedly shows Muslim youths threatening Christians in Enugu and Jos. According to the Tribune Online, the video, which has caused outrage among Christian communities, purportedly shows the youths chanting in Hausa and making derogatory remarks about Christians. The NCA, in a statement, described the video as ‘a clear threat to the lives and properties of Christians in the two cities.’ The association, led by Bishop Joseph Danladi, has asked the authorities to investigate the matter and bring the perpetrators to justice. The Tribune Online reported that the video sparked protests in Enugu, with Christian youths demanding the arrest of the suspects. The Enugu State Police Command, however, has not commented on the issue, according to the report. The incident comes amid heightened tensions between Christians and Muslims in Nigeria. In September, a similar video surfaced in Kaduna State, leading to clashes between the two communities. The situation has raised concerns about communal violence in the country. The NCA’s call for a probe into the Enugu-Jos video is a step towards addressing the growing fears of insecurity among Christians in the North.
