Kogi Vigilantes Arrest Suspects over Power Facility, Airport Site Vandalism

The Kogi State Vigilante Service (KSVS) has arrested two suspects over alleged vandalism of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) facilities in Anyigba and suspected criminal activities targeting construction sites and heavy-duty trucks along major highways in the state, according to a press release dated October 24, 2026, and signed by the Service’s spokesperson, Mr. William Aya. The arrests come in the wake of increasing incidents of vandalism and theft targeting critical infrastructure in the state, which has disrupted power supply and caused significant delays in construction projects. The suspects, whose identities were not disclosed, were taken into custody for questioning and will be charged to court once investigations are completed. The KSVS has appealed to the public to report any suspicious activities related to vandalism or theft of critical infrastructure to the service for immediate action. This development is a crucial step towards securing the state’s infrastructure and ensuring the smooth operation of its power facilities and construction projects.
