Lawmakers Issue Threats Against Telecom CEOs over Poor Services

In a move aimed at addressing the persistent poor services offered by telecommunication companies in Nigeria, lawmakers have threatened to issue arrest warrants against the CEOs of these companies. This development was reported by Radio Nigeria Lagos. According to the report, the lawmakers are dissatisfied with the quality of services provided by these companies, particularly in rural areas, and have called on the CEOs to appear before them to explain the situation. It is unclear when these CEOs will be summoned or if they have responded to the invitation. This threat by lawmakers comes amidst increasing complaints from Nigerians about the poor quality of services offered by telecom companies, particularly with regards to call drops, slow internet speeds, and poor network coverage. The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has not said when the facility began operating, but it is hoped that this move by lawmakers will force the telecom companies to improve their services and ensure that Nigerians receive the quality of service they deserve.
