LG Showcases Innovation in Deepening Ties with South Korea

South Korean tech giant LG showcased its latest innovations in Nigeria as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral ties.

In a bid to deepen its ties with Nigeria, South Korean tech giant LG showcased its latest innovations at an event in Lagos on Friday, The Guardian Nigeria News reports. According to the newspaper, the event, which was attended by Nigerian and South Korean government officials, saw LG unveil a range of products including smart TVs, washing machines, and air conditioners. The South Korean company has been operating in Nigeria for several years and has established a strong presence in the local market, particularly in the electronics sector. The event is seen as a significant move to strengthen the relationship between the two countries, particularly in the technology and innovation space. This development comes at a time when Nigeria is seeking to attract more foreign investment to boost its economy, particularly in the technology sector. According to the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), the country received over $10 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2020, with technology and telecommunications accounting for a significant portion of that investment.
