Four South-East Governors Urge Igbos to Vote for Tinubu in 2027
Four South-East governors have called on the Igbo people to vote for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential elections, citing reasons for their appeal.

In an unprecedented move, four South-East governors have urged the Igbo people to vote for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential elections. Governors Peter Mbah of Enugu State, Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, and Charles Soludo of Anambra State made the appeal during a joint press conference. According to reports by Vanguard News, THISDAYLIVE, Premium Times Nigeria, and Google News, the governors cited various reasons for their appeal.
Mbah described Southeasterners as strategic people who had established businesses and relationships beyond the zone. He also emphasized the need for the Igbo people to consider the overall interest of the country in their voting decisions.
Uzodimma, on the other hand, stated that the Igbo leaders were not part of any one-term presidency arrangement, implying that Tinubu’s presidency could ensure a fair representation for the Igbo people in national politics.
Nwifuru and Soludo also echoed similar sentiments, appealing to the strategic nature of the Igbo people and their reputation as relationship builders.
These appeals come amidst speculations about the political leanings of the Igbo people and their potential role in the 2027 elections. The governors’ calls for unity and fair representation are expected to resonate with many Igbo voters, who have historically played a significant role in Nigerian politics.
