First Lady Remi Tinubu Launches Empowerment Program in Enugu
Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has launched a South-East Women Mega Empowerment and APC Women Mobilisation initiative in Enugu, distributing empowerment materials and promising ₦200,000 business grants to 750 persons.

On Saturday, Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, launched a significant empowerment program in Enugu, the heart of the South-East region. The initiative, dubbed the South-East Women Mega Empowerment and the All Progressives Congress’ Women Mobilisation, saw the distribution of empowerment materials and a pledge to grant ₦200,000 to 750 individuals to start their businesses.
According to Vanguard News, this move comes as South-East governors have expressed their support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid. Benjamin Kalu, the House of Representatives member from Abia, emphasised that Ndigbo are not part of any one-term presidency arrangement and deserve more than they have received.
This empowerment program is a testament to the Tinubu administration’s commitment to women’s empowerment and economic development in Nigeria. The initiative, while still in its early stages, has the potential to significantly impact the lives of many women in the South-East region.
