APC Defends Tinubu’s Power Sector Performance: Scorecard Imminent
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has defended Bola Tinubu's performance in the power sector, promising to release a scorecard soon.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has defended the power sector performance of its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, amidst criticisms over his administration’s handling of the sector. The APC campaign team, in a statement, said some commentaries reproduced Mr Tinubu’s campaign promise without including the part that he would give Nigerians adequate reasons if his administration failed to fulfil the estimated billing commitment before seeking re-election. The statement added that the promise was made in the context of ongoing negotiations with power sector operators. According to Premium Times, the APC campaign team is expected to release a scorecard on Tinubu’s performance in the power sector soon. This development comes as the power sector remains a contentious issue in Nigeria, with many Nigerians expressing dissatisfaction over the persistent power outages and high electricity costs. The power sector is a crucial aspect of Nigeria’s economy, and the performance of the sector is often a key factor in voters’ decisions during elections.
