Nasarawa: Troops Nab Suspected Kidnapper During Ransom Collection

Nigerian troops and security operatives have arrested a suspected kidnapper in Nasarawa State while he was collecting a N200,000 ransom.

According to Premium Times Nigeria and Daily Post Nigeria, troops of Operation Whirl Stroke and DSS operatives have apprehended a suspected kidnapper identified as Mukaila Iliyasu in Nasarawa State. The arrest occurred while the suspect was collecting a ransom of N200,000 allegedly demanded from a woman under threat of abduction. The security personnel posed as civilians and delivered the ransom at a prearranged location, where they arrested the suspect in Akwaba, Eggon Local Government Area.

This development comes amidst escalating concerns over the rising incidents of kidnappings across Nigeria. The arrest is commendable and demonstrates the commitment of security forces to combating criminal activities.

However, it is essential to note that the identity of the suspect is yet to be officially confirmed by the Nigerian military or the Department of State Services (DSS). As such, further investigations are required to establish the suspect’s involvement in other criminal activities.
