NDLEA and Australian Police Join Forces in Landmark Pact Against Drug Cartels

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Australian Federal Police have signed a significant agreement to combat transnational drug cartels and trafficking networks.

In a decisive move against the growing threat of drug trafficking, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) have entered into a partnership aimed at dismantling drug cartels and trafficking networks across borders. This historic agreement was sealed during a ceremony in Abuja, Nigeria.

According to reports, the partnership comes at a time when drug trafficking has become highly transnational, organized, and sophisticated, with cartels exploiting weak links in various jurisdictions.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, NDLEA Chairman, General Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd), declared war on these syndicates, emphasizing the need for a united front against this common enemy. The AFP, in response, vowed to hunt down traffickers as a pack.

This collaboration is expected to leverage the unique strengths of both agencies, with the NDLEA’s local knowledge and the AFP’s advanced technology and investigative techniques. The ultimate goal is to disrupt the operations of these drug cartels, seize their ill-gotten gains, and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The agreement is a significant step towards strengthening Nigeria-Australia relations and demonstrates a shared commitment to addressing the global scourge of drug trafficking.
