ADC’s 2027 Presidential Candidate Remains Atiku – Delta Chapter Insists
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Delta State has reaffirmed Atiku Abubakar as its presidential candidate for the 2027 elections, despite a recent court ruling.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Delta State has maintained its position that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar remains the party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 elections, according to a report by Daily Post Nigeria. The party’s Publicity Secretary, Fred Akpevwe, made this assertion based on a Supreme Court judgment that previously affirmed David Mark’s leadership position, which in turn nominated Atiku and Chief Great Ogboru as the presidential and governorship candidates respectively.
However, a separate report by Punch Newspapers suggests that a Federal High Court ruling has invalidated the ADC leadership that produced Atiku as its presidential candidate, potentially jeopardizing his 2027 bid. It is unclear how this court ruling may impact the ADC’s decision regarding its presidential candidate.
This development comes as the race for the 2027 elections heats up, with various political parties and candidates making their moves. The ADC’s stance on Atiku as its presidential candidate remains a significant factor in the political landscape, particularly in Delta State and at the national level.
