Power Outage: TCN Clears Grid Instability over Ikeja Disco Blackout in Lagos

In a statement made on Friday, the management of TCN disputed the claims by Ikeja Disco that grid instability was responsible for the recent power outage that left many residents in Lagos without electricity. According to the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), the outage was due to issues within the distribution network managed by Ikeja Disco.

The statement read in part: ‘We wish to clarify that the recent power outage in the Ikeja Electric network was not as a result of grid instability as claimed by the Disco. The outage was due to issues within the distribution network managed by Ikeja Disco.’

This refutation comes after Ikeja Disco blamed grid instability for the outage, causing concern among residents and businesses affected by the power outage.
