Keyamo and ADC Clash over Atiku’s Eligibility for 2027 Elections

In a heated exchange, Festus Keyamo and a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have differed on the eligibility of Atiku Abubakar to contest the 2027 elections.

In a spirited exchange of words, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), and a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Barrister Kenneth Imansuangbon, have clashed over the eligibility of Atiku Abubakar to contest the 2027 presidential elections. According to Tribune Online, Keyamo, in a statement, declared that no one would lose sleep if Atiku was not on the ballot. He argued that the former Vice President should not be a priority for the opposition parties, stating that his presence or absence would not significantly impact the outcome of the elections. However, Imansuangbon, a former Edo governorship aspirant, strongly disputed Keyamo’s stance. In an interview with the same publication, he emphasized the importance of Atiku’s participation in the elections, asserting that the ADC would challenge any move to exclude him. The disagreement between Keyamo and Imansuangbon underscores the ongoing debate within political circles regarding Atiku’s eligibility for the 2027 elections, a topic of significant interest to Nigerian voters.
