The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to emulate French President Emmanuel Macron’s leadership style in addressing the growing insecurity and hardship in Nigeria. The ADC made this call following a series of attacks and killings in various parts of the country, including Plateau, Niger, Benue, Zamfara, Kaduna, Kogi, Kwara, Katsina, Sokoto, and others. According to a statement signed by Yabao Oyedokun, the Publicity Secretary of the ADC, the welfare of citizens should remain central to governance. The ADC noted that President Macron has shown empathy and taken decisive actions to protect his citizens, and urged Tinubu to do the same. The statement reads, ‘It is disheartening to see the level of insecurity and hardship Nigerians are facing daily. From Plateau to Niger, Benue, Zamfara, Kaduna, Kogi, Kwara, Katsina, Sokoto, and other parts of the country, citizens are being attacked and killed without respite. It is time for our leaders to show empathy and take decisive actions to protect the lives and properties of Nigerians.’ The ADC further called on Tinubu to ‘learn from President Macron of France who has shown empathy and taken decisive actions to protect his citizens.’ The ADC’s call comes at a time when the Nigerian government is under increasing pressure to address the growing insecurity in the country.
