The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called for transparency over the source of funding for seven Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) donated to leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) youth wing. The demand comes amid growing concerns about extravagant spending by the ruling party, particularly during a period of economic hardship. According to Premium Times Nigeria, the ADC said the expenditure on the SUVs was unnecessary and questioned why such funds were not channelled towards alleviating the suffering of Nigerians. The APC has not yet responded to the demand for disclosure. This development adds to the ongoing debate about the use of public funds by political parties in Nigeria. As the country gears up for the 2027 general elections, calls for accountability and transparency in political financing are becoming increasingly louder.
