In a bid to address the financing challenges facing Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the agricultural sector, the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), and the Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) have joined forces to bridge the gap. According to THISDAYLIVE, the partnership aims to provide targeted support to 40% women, 10% Persons With Disabilities (PWDs), and 10,000 youths in the agricultural sector. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to boost agricultural productivity and economic growth in Nigeria. The collaboration is expected to provide training, mentorship, and financial support to these targeted groups, thereby empowering them to become key players in the agricultural sector. Such a move is crucial, especially considering the potential of the agricultural sector in driving economic growth and job creation in Nigeria. This development is commendable, as it demonstrates a concerted effort by key stakeholders to address the financing challenges faced by SMEs in the agricultural sector, ultimately contributing to the growth and development of the sector.
