The ruling party in Lagos State, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has reportedly expelled two of its members following their nomination under another political platform – the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The expulsion came after the affected politicians, Sanni Egunjobi and Ganiu Azeez, were nominated by the ADC as aspirants for the Lagos State House of Assembly. According to multiple sources, the APC leadership in the state took action against the two politicians for allegedly violating party rules by defecting without due process.
The expulsion has sparked debate among political analysts and observers, with some arguing that it is a sign of growing internal tensions within the APC ahead of the 2027 elections. Others argue that the move was necessary to maintain discipline within the party ranks. The affected politicians have not yet commented on their expulsion.
