In a move that signals a potential political realignment ahead of the 2027 elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has revised its Presidential Campaign Council list. The revised list, set to be inaugurated by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday, includes governors Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, and Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State.
According to reports, Wike, who is the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Adeleke, and Soludo, despite their affiliations with other political parties, have been named state campaign coordinators.
This development comes amidst speculation that the APC is seeking to broaden its political base and secure support from key political figures across the country.
In a statement, Governor Soludo’s party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has congratulated the Anambra governor on his appointment to President Tinubu’s campaign council.
Reacting to his inclusion, Minister Wike expressed happiness over the decision, stating that President Tinubu’s inclusivity demonstrated the re-election campaign’s non-partisan approach. The Director of Women Mobilisation of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Dr Betta Edu, has also promised an issue-based campaign, expressing confidence in President Tinubu’s record as a key strength for his re-election bid.
