Atiku Won’t Be an Absentee President – ADC Pledges ahead of 2027 Elections

In a move aimed at quelling concerns about potential absences during his term, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has reassured Nigerians that their candidate, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, will not be an absentee president if elected in 2027. According to a statement by ADC’s national publicity secretary, Emmanuel Addeh in Abuja, the PCC emphasized the commitment of its presidential candidate to an accessible and engaged presidency.

“Our candidate has always been a man of the people, and he will continue to be so as president. We are determined to ensure that his administration is inclusive and responsive to the needs of all Nigerians,” said Addeh.

The PCC’s pledge comes amidst concerns about the health and travel history of Atiku Abubakar, who has been criticized for spending extended periods outside Nigeria in the past. However, the ADC maintains that their candidate will prioritize his responsibilities to the country should he be elected.

According to THISDAYLIVE, Atiku Abubakar’s assurance of an active and engaged presidency could bolster his chances ahead of the 2027 elections. The report suggests that Nigerians are looking for a leader who is committed to addressing the country’s pressing issues, such as insecurity, economic growth, and corruption.
