CAF Confirms Date for 2026 Awards in Lagos

According to reports from multiple sources including Premium Times Nigeria, Sports247 Nigeria, Daily Post Nigeria, Blueprint Newspapers, Nigerian Voice, TheCable and a Google News search for "CAF Awards 2026 Lagos", the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that the 2026 CAF Awards will be held in Lagos, Nigeria on December 7. This marks the second major CAF event to take place in Lagos this year, following the organisation’s Ordinary General Assembly scheduled for November 21.

Nigeria has hosted several high-profile sporting events in recent years, including the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations. The CAF Awards are an annual event that recognises African footballers, coaches, and other personalities for their achievements over the past year.

Confirming the date, the CAF President, Patrice Motsepe said in a statement: "We are excited to be returning to Nigeria and particularly Lagos. The city has shown great enthusiasm for football and we look forward to celebrating African football with our fans and stakeholders there".

The exact location of the event has not yet been announced, but it is expected to attract thousands of fans from across Africa.
