In a statement signed by its chairman, Reverend Israel Akanji, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Niger State has urged President Bola Tinubu to take immediate action to reduce the high cost of living, especially fuel and food prices. The association expressed concern over the increasing hardships faced by Nigerians due to the high cost of essential commodities. ‘The President should prioritize the welfare of citizens by implementing measures that will bring down the cost of living,’ said Reverend Akanji.
According to reports, this call comes at a time when Nigerians are grappling with inflation and economic hardship under the new administration. The high cost of fuel, in particular, has been a major source of concern for many citizens.
This appeal by CAN follows similar calls from various groups across the country urging the government to address the economic difficulties faced by ordinary Nigerians.
