Former Central Bank of Nigeria governor, Charles Soludo, popularly known as Augie, has raised concerns about the state of Nigerian courts, alleging they have been transformed into ‘market stalls’ due to corruption. Speaking at an event in Abuja on Saturday, Oct 16th, Augie decried the high levels of corruption that have infiltrated the judicial system, affecting fairness and justice. According to a report by TheCable, the former CBN governor lamented that the situation has led to a loss of confidence in the judiciary and undermined the rule of law. Soludo, who served as the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria from 2004 to 2009, is known for his outspokenness on various national issues. It is unclear if the judiciary has responded to Augie’s allegations.
