Court Halts Eunisell’s Enforcement of 177% Default Charges against Halkin

A Federal High Court in Abuja has dealt a blow to Eunisell Limited in a long-standing dispute with Halkin Exploration and Production Limited. According to ThisDayLive, the court has permanently restrained Eunisell from demanding or enforcing late-payment charges imposed on Halkin. The exact amount of the charges was not disclosed in the report, but it is said to be an astronomical 177%. The case highlights the need for clear and fair business practices in the Nigerian energy sector, a matter of concern for both local and foreign investors. Eunisell has not yet commented on the court’s decision, and it remains unclear if or when the company will appeal the ruling.
