David Umahi: No Presidential Candidate from South-East in 2027 Elections

Minister of Works, David Umahi, has declared that there is no presidential candidate from the South-East in the 2027 general election, dismissing the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, as 'nobody'.

According to Daily Post Nigeria, Minister of Works David Umahi, in a recent statement, declared that there is no presidential candidate from the South-East in the 2027 general election. Umahi, who is also the Ebonyi State Governor, dismissed the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, as ‘nobody’. He further stated that Obi is not better than some prominent persons in Ebonyi State, including himself and former Senate President Ken Nnamani. This statement comes amidst speculations about the possible presidential candidate from the South-East in the upcoming elections. The significance of Umahi’s declaration lies in the fact that it could influence the political landscape of the South-East and the overall 2027 elections. However, it is important to note that Umahi’s statement has not been disputed by other key political figures from the South-East, suggesting a potential lack of consensus within the region.
