In a video shared on his official Facebook page on Friday night, former Senator Dino Melaye has predicted that the economic hardship currently facing Nigerians will worsen if President Bola Tinubu secures re-election in 2027. According to Melaye, the Tinubu-led administration has been insensitive to the plight of Nigerians, and a second term will result in ‘proper hunger’.
Melaye’s prediction comes as the Nigerian economy grapples with high inflation, fuel scarcity, and unemployment. The president’s critics have accused him of prioritizing political cronies over national interests.
While Melaye’s prediction cannot be confirmed, it reflects the concerns of many Nigerians who have been struggling with economic hardship under the current administration. The 2027 elections will be closely watched as Nigerians seek a solution to the country’s economic woes.
