Emergency landing in Abuja as private jet door detaches mid-air – Multiple reports

A private jet operated by Triton Aviation narrowly avoided a possible air disaster on Thursday after losing a door shortly after takeoff from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, NAIA, Abuja. According to multiple reports, the crew of the CL60 aircraft, with registration number T7-SEI and flight identification DWC052, declared a “Mayday” emergency and returned to the airport for an emergency landing. The incident occurred at approximately 11:00 AM, causing a brief panic among airport staff and passengers. The causes of the incident are still unclear, with Triton Aviation yet to issue a statement. This is not the first time an emergency landing has occurred in Abuja. In 2022, a Qatar Airways Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner made an emergency landing at the airport due to a technical issue. As the investigation into Thursday’s incident continues, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has promised to release a statement shortly. The NCAA is responsible for regulating civil aviation activities in Nigeria and ensuring the safety of aircraft and passengers.
