FirstBank Reassures Customers: FirstMobile App Secure and Operational

In response to a viral WhatsApp voice message suggesting otherwise, First Bank of Nigeria Ltd has moved swiftly to assure its customers that its FirstMobile application remains secure and fully operational. The assurance comes after a claim circulating on the popular messaging platform alleged that the bank’s mobile app had been compromised. However, the bank described this assertion as false and misleading, urging customers and other stakeholders to disregard it.

In a statement issued on Monday, First Bank emphasized that the FirstMobile application is secure and operational, adding that customers can continue to use the platform for their banking needs without fear of security breaches.

The assurance from the bank comes at a time when cybersecurity has become a major concern for many Nigerians, especially as more people turn to digital platforms for financial transactions. Last year alone saw a significant increase in reported cyber-attacks on banks and other financial institutions.

With this latest reassurance from First Bank, customers can breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that they can continue to trust the bank’s mobile application for their banking needs.
