The critically acclaimed Nigerian television drama series, Sands of Time, has been making headlines this week as it clinched seven awards in a span of one week across both local and international award platforms. The series and its cast received four awards at the 2026 Nigerian Electronic Media Content Exhibition and Awards (NEMCEA), followed by three international television honours from film festivals in Canada.
According to Tribune Online, the series’ success was marked by its wins at NEMCEA, including awards for Best Drama Series, Best Director, and Best Screenplay. The series also took home the award for Most Promising Actor at the event.
Meanwhile, at international film festivals in Canada, Sands of Time was recognized with three honours – Best International Drama Series, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actor. This achievement underscores the growing recognition for Nigerian entertainment on a global scale.
