The Ikenne Development Association (IDA) has commissioned a new Police Area Command complex, donated by billionaire entrepreneur Adekunle Soname in Ikenne. According to the Tribune Online, the new facility, valued at about N300 million, was handed over to the Nigeria Police Force on Thursday. The complex, which comprises an ultra-modern office complex and a block of cells, is expected to enhance the operational capacity of the police in Ikenne. Soname, who is also the chairman of Remo Stars Football Club, has been a significant philanthropist in his community, supporting various initiatives aimed at improving the lives of residents. This development is significant as it underscores the role of private sector involvement in improving the security infrastructure in Nigeria. The commissioning of the new Police Area Command complex is part of the annual Ereke Day celebrations in Ikenne, a town in Ogun State.
