The Jigawa State Police Command has apprehended a suspected motorcycle-snatching syndicate in connection with the murder of nine individuals and theft of 33 motorcycles across Kaduna, Kano, and Jigawa states.

According to Daily Post Nigeria (dailypost.ng), the Jigawa State Police Command has arrested a motorcycle-snatching syndicate for allegedly killing nine people and stealing 33 motorcycles across three states – Kaduna, Kano, and Jigawa. The suspects were apprehended following investigations into a series of violent crimes in the region. According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam, this syndicate specialized in motorcycle snatching, receiving stolen property, and other violent crimes across the affected states.

The Punch Newspapers (punchng.com) also reported on this incident, detailing that the suspects were arrested in Jigawa, where they are said to have killed nine people and stolen 33 motorcycles. The Jigawa Police Command is yet to disclose when this crime syndicate began operating.

This development highlights the increasing issue of bike theft and violence in northern Nigeria, which has been a source of concern for both local residents and authorities. The arrest of this particular syndicate offers some relief but underscores the need for improved security measures to curb such incidents in the future.
