Nigerian Businessman Kola Karim Identified as Owner of Jet that Lost Door Mid-Flight

According to multiple reports, a private jet owned by Nigerian businessman Kola Karim lost a door mid-flight and was forced to make an emergency landing in Abuja on October 16, 2026. The incident occurred during a flight to the capital city from an unspecified location. Sahara Reporters was the first to report that Karim is the owner of the jet. Premium Times Nigeria and Head Topics also confirmed the incident, but did not attribute the ownership of the jet to Karim. The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has not yet commented on the incident. Karim is a well-known Nigerian entrepreneur with interests in several industries, including oil and gas, power, and real estate. The incident raises concerns about the safety of private jets in Nigeria, a country with a growing number of wealthy individuals who own such aircraft. The NCAA has been working to improve aviation safety in the country, but incidents such as this underscore the need for continued vigilance and action.
